This time last week, I was flying high over the Indian Ocean en route to Mauritius for our first stopover since leaving Perth. I had flown to Perth on the previous day, with a total of 30 hours up in the air by the time we reached our destination. Needless to say I needed some serious grounding when I arrived. Our stunning little village Castelnau-Magnoac which is to be my home for 14 days. Followed by 2 nights in Spain before we head back to Toulouse to begin the long journey home. I had just met 12 new people that I was going to be spending the next 3 weeks of my life with and I was a little nervous.
It’s a really interesting situation, when you a thrust into a house with 12 very different personalities… your never quite sure what you are going to get, as one of the girls pointed out the other day – you almost always get a loopy.(not that we are judgemental or anything!) Thankfully, we have an amazing group of people who have all clicked really well together despite the vast range of personalities.
I keep having to pinch myself that I am even here, experiencing this without any stress of everyday life. No dinners to prepare, no worrying about having to go to work, it really is just like a retreat. The first time this really hit home for me, was when I was walking up the stairs of our amazing “castle” (pic’s to come), In tracksuit pants, a jumper, socks and thongs! Something we would never even think about wearing to college ‘back home’.
It really is like a dream. Our usual daily routine consists of getting up, going for a run, back home for breakfast and a shower, a quick trip to the boulangerie’ for the most delicious Pain au chocolait’ (when in France!), then walk up stairs for our first class of the day which is Flower Essences and discussing the work of Byron Katie, followed by yoga and lunch before spending the afternoon upstairs in class again for Mind-Body Medicine. We are finished by 5pm then we walk about 200m down the road to the local pub and sit and chat amongst ourselves and meet the locals.
The fact that we are in a really fun routine outside of our everyday lives, has really helped us all to connect on a much deeper level. The fact that we haven’t even started taking our Flower Essences yet, tells me that this is just the beginning! Friendships are building and space is opening up in my world where I once had judgement. Clarity is filtering in, and in class, we are
tearing apart the stories we tell ourselves that are keeping us stuck and this is transpiring into the most fabulous conversations, most of which start with the sentence “I know this is just my story, but….” The awareness that we are all developing is inspiring, and more layers are slowly starting to melt away. I am so grateful everyday for this experience, and feel truly blessed to have met such a fabulous group of people. My path is becoming clearer and Flower Essences will definitely feature very heavily in my journey moving forward and I can’t wait to share all that I am learning about this fabulous healing tool with you all.
Tonight we are off to a local restraunt that sources all of their meat from there own farm and everything is homemade. It is really tough to eat a “healthy” diet when you go out in France, however we have been fortunate enough to be getting really good meals at home which has been great! But it will be nice to be able to dine out and know that we are getting really nice food that has been made with love.
I will be sharing more of the photo’s once I return.
Au revoir!
